Thunderbirds edge Express 3-1 -Express Adds Veteran To Line Up

In Junior A Play, there was one game on the roster last night for local area teams.

Nolan Ford’s goal midway through the first period proved to be the game-winner for the Soo Thunderbirds.

They beat out the Espanola Express 3-1 Wednesday at John Rhodes Community Centre.

And still with the Express, the team has announced the return of veteran forward, Joel Grandbois.

The 6’1″, 190lbs Blezard Valley resident will add an offensive punch to the Express line up.

Grandbois last played for the Express during the 2015-2016 season amassing 21 goals and 17 assists in 51 games.

Grandbois did not return to play junior hockey last year to focus on his studies and to complete high school, where he also played hockey last season.

When asked about returning to the Express Joel had this to say. “I am excited to get back on the ice in Espo and play for some of the greatest fans in the world.”
