The Manitoulin/Espanola OPP Marine Unit were able to help a couple left stranded by a thunderstorm last Friday night.
The unit was called to assist in locating a vessel in distress just after 8 PM Friday night.
A man and a woman were on Ella Lake near Nairn Centre when a severe thunderstorm passed through.
They were caught in the storm and stranded and disoriented, the police were called.
The unit located the boaters shortly after 10:30 PM and escorted them to safety.
The OPP reminds boaters to check and monitor weather conditions before venturing out on the water.
