North Bay man charged with uttering threats in Espanola

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Bay resident following an investigation relating to allegations of uttering threats to an alleged victim in Espanola.
On August 31, the OPP received a request from the Chief of Espanola Police Service to conduct an investigation into a matter that occurred in Espanola on August 29th.
The investigation was referred to Professional Standards Bureau with the assistance of the North East Region Criminal Investigations Unit.
As a result of the investigation, the OPP have charged a man, 47, of North Bay with two counts of Uttering Threats contrary to section 264.1(1) of the Criminal Code.
His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim and he is to appear in court in Espanola on October 23, 2017.
The OPP adds it will not comment further in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the ongoing court process.
