Fraud charges laid after $1,000’s missing from Espanola service club

Espanola police have charged a woman with fraud after tens of thousands of dollars belonging to a local service club disappeared.  Police began investigating the club`s records last October, and found more than $30,000 was never deposited in two bank accounts.   The police examined bank records extensively in arriving at the dollar amount.  The money the club raises is usually given to charitable groups in Espanola.  They`ve charged a 51-year-old Espanola woman with fraud over $5,000 and fraud under $5,000.  The accused appears in Espanola court October 23rd.
