Man Charged for Erratic Driving

A 71-year-old Elliot Lake man is facing charges after almost causing a head on collision on Highway 17 near Highway 108.

The OPP says on August 18th, police saw the man driving in an erratic manner on Highway 108 and stopped him. Officers say there was a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. The man was arrested, had his driver’s license suspended and his vehicle was towed and impounded. He is facing four charges including refusing to provide a breath sample and failing to stop for an emergency vehicle.

The man is scheduled to appear in court on October 31st.
