Haweater Weekend in Little Current swings into full action Friday. A new event is closing Water Street all weekend to motor vehicles so vendors can create a pedestrian mall-like atmosphere that includes live music. Saturday sees numerous events including the Haw Run, beach volleyball and a magic show at Expositor Square at 6:00pm. The annual parade goes Sunday at noon but before that spectators can take in events like the Haw Horse Show. The 50th anniversary of Haweater Weekend ends Sunday evening with a fireworks display.
