Fedeli says recordings of alleged by-election bribe tell interesting story

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli expects a lot of attention will be placed on recordings of two high-profile Liberals allegedly bribing a former Liberal candidate.  The candidate was Andrew Olivier a quadriplegic who records everything and who wanted the 2015 Sudbury by-election nomination.  The recordings allegedly have Olivier being offered a job or appointment in return for not seeking the nomination.  The high-ranking individuals who talked to Olivier are charged with bribery under the Ontario Election Act.  Although all the accused deny the bribery charge, Fedeli says the recordings tell a very interesting story.  Fedeli says he can’t imagine that the people on the recordings could make an offer without a higher authority.

“If the tapes are listened to, they claim the higher authority is the Premier,” Fedeli told Moose News.  “They claim, at least through the tapes that we’ve heard, I’m calling on behalf of the Premier, or the Premier has asked me to reach out to you.  It’s those types of things.  She (Kathleen Wynne) is the Premier.  It’s her they’re talking about.”  The trial of Gerry Lougheed Junior of Sudbury and Pat Sorbara, the Premier’s former chief of staff, who are both charged under the Election Act, begins next month in Sudbury.
