A commercial vehicle blitz in Sudbury has resulted in two big trucks being taken off the road. The rigs were hauled away for a variety of violations. Sudbury police inspected 18 vehicles during the blitz and issued 30 tickets including offenses for being overweight and having an insecure load. One driver was also given a roadside breath test because the officer could smell booze off his breath. The driver had 20 milligrams of alcohol in his blood during the mid-morning checks. City police conducted the blitz in conjunction with the OPP and Ministry of Transportation.
