ONA wins right to represent more health-care workers at HSN in Sudbury

It’s a victory for the Ontario Nurses Association which can now represent additional health-care workers at Health Sciences North.   The Ontario Labour Relations Board has given representation rights to ONA.  The decision adds about 50 classifications to the union and among the professionals are respiratory and occupational therapists.  The hospital and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union asked the labour board to let the employees vote on who would represent them.  ONA, which already represents 1,300 nurses at the Sudbury hospital, won the vote.
