Ball fields on Manitoulin getting cash for upgrades
It won’t be long before the two ball fields in Mindemoya get a major facelift. Central Manitoulin is getting $150,000 from the Jays Care Foundation, the charitable division of the Toronto Blue Jays. The money will be used to build up the fields so that water doesn’t just sit on them when it rains. The players’ benches need cover overtops to protect them from the sun and the original lights on the fields need to be replaced.
In total, the Jays Care Foundation awarded nearly $1.2 million to 13 projects across Canada to improve their respective ball fields.
