North sees no new forest fires

Northern Ontario has quite a few days without any new forest fires.  The last fire to erupt was September 2nd.    Three older fires are burning in a remote part of the Cochrane District but they are all very small and being observed.  The fire hazard in the northeast is mostly moderate.   Ontario has experienced 171 forest fires this year and they’ve only scorched less than 4,200 hectares.
