Strawberry Island declared protected park

Strawberry Island on eastern Manitoulin is now a protected park area.  It means no camping is allowed at the site but hiking and bird watching activities are allowed.  The island is well known for its red and white lighthouse at the northern tip.  The island is about 1,100 hectares in size and is home to provincially significant wetlands.  In addition Queen Mother Mnidoo Mnising is now a provincial park.  The same conditions that apply to Strawberry Island, like no camping, also apply to this site.
