Charges laid after gift cards obtained illegally

Four people face charges after stolen credit card numbers were used to buy gift cards in Espanola which were then used to make purchases.  Three Espanola residents face charges of uttering a forged document, possession of a stolen credit card and taking part in a criminal organization.  A fourth person from Sudbury is charged with identity theft and breach of trust.  Espanola police say a Sudbury man got the credit card numbers from work, supplied them to the accomplices who then ordered the gift cards.  The accused bought $1,700 worth of Canadian Tire gift cards and $900 in Home Hardware gift cards.
