A baton relay with the names of Canadian soldiers who have died over the years stopped in Espanola Tuesday morning. The relay is on its way to Ottawa for a September 18th event and the Espanola stop-over was to pay tribute to Private David Byers. Byers was killed in a suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan on September 18th, 2006. Three other Canadian troops were killed including Corporal Glen Arnold of McKerrow. Members of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry carried the baton through town as they make their way to Ottawa.
