There’s a protest today west of Sudbury in Nairn Centre. Residents and First Nations are slowing down traffic on Highway 17 to voice their opposition to a proposed mobile bulk emulsion explosive plant. The plant, which has council support, would be housed west of Nairn. Today’s highway protest begins at 9:30 a.m. and runs to 11:00 a.m. meaning motorists can expect slowdowns.
