The competition bureau has delayed the sale of Ontera. The federal agency wants to make sure that selling the ONTC division to Bell Aliant doesn’t create a telecommunications monopoly for Bell in the northeast. The sale was to be finalized this month but it’s postponed until early September. North Bay city council triggered the delay when it made a formal complaint to the competition bureau.
