A man who used a backhoe to pull his truck stuck on a slushy lake, caused some tense moments for emergency response teams in Sudbury. When the man tried pulling his truck, the backhoe sunk partially into the slush and also got stuck. The man left, and a few hours later another person came upon the scene.
Thinking someone was trouble, the person called 9-1-1 and emergency personnel responded with the notion someone was stuck inside the backhoe. The misunderstanding was cleared up and the advice from police is let them know if a vehicle goes through the ice, so they know how to respond.
