A Northern Ontario New Democrat is worried that FedNor doesn’t have a minister like it has in the past. Charlie Angus, the MP for Timmins-James Bay, says the economic development agency is now part of the Science and Innovation department.
Angus says that means it’s no longer independent. He says FedNor needs to be a standalone agency and wants the Trudeau Liberals to move in this direction. Angus also wants the feds to restore FedNor funding that the Harper Tories cut over the last decade.
