Timmins James Bay MP Charlie Angus says the Trudeau Liberals need to show leadership on gas gouging. The New Democrat says gas pump prices go up as soon as the price of a barrel of oil increases. But despite oil losing 75 percent of its value in the last 18 months, Angus says gas is still high. Angus wants to know if the Prime Minister will step in to ensure there’s fairness in the system.
Angus also says oil companies are not competitive with their gas prices. He says since the Competition Bureau won’t investigate NDP claims of gas gouging in the north, only the creation of a Gas Ombudsman will bring some fairness to the issue.
