NDP: High food prices hurting northeners

A Northern Ontario New Democrat says food is becoming unaffordable in the north.  And Sarah Campbell, the member for Kenora – Rainy River, wants the Wynne Liberals to do something.  Campbell is hearing that meat is now so expensive that residents in her riding only buy it when it`s on sale.  Another constituent who was visiting Sault Ste. Marie told Campbell food was cheaper in the Sault so she stocked up before heading home.

Campbell also says one voter who was in Southern Ontario couldn`t believe how much cheaper groceries are compared to northern prices.  Campbell says the cost of living is starting to outstrip wages and pensions meaning essentials like food and utility bills are harder to pay for.
