At Queen’s Park, the Tories are accusing the Liberals of under-selling Ontera, the north’s telecommunication division of the ONTC. For more than a year Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli has claimed Ontera is worth $50 to $70-milion. However, Fedeli says the Liberals sold the agency to the private sector for only $6 million. And the Tory finance critic says this doesn’t include the $6.5 million the Liberals paid lawyers and consultants to advise them on the sale. In the Legislature Fedeli said the Liberals are a laughing stock who bungles the sale. Fedeli is also worried that if the Liberals are selling Ontera at a fraction of its value, they’ll do the same when selling Hydro One further incurring a massive loss for taxpayers.
