Although the Huron Shores area got enough rain this week to remove a fire ban on open burning, the same can’t be said for East Algoma. Elliot Lake Fire Chief Paul Officer says the open burning ban remains in place for the Township of the North Shore, Blind River and Elliot Lake. Officer says despite the rain the last couple of days, it just wasn’t enough to life the restrictions east of Huron Shores.
