Northern First Nations not getting quality healthcare, says Hughes

The level of health services in the Northern and remote First Nations communities is a problem. That’s according to MP for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, Carol Hughes. Hughes says the only way to fix it, is for the government to recognize the issue.

A report from the Auditor General shows that the remote communities in Ontario aren’t getting basic health care services. Hughes says the quality and availability of services doesn’t come close to what most Canadians have.

She says the feds can brag all they want about balancing the budget, but people need to know what decisions are being made to make that happen.
