LGTBQ speaker at Espanola High

A guest speaker is coming to Espanola High. Jeremy Dias will be speaking about his experiences with racism and homophobia growing up in Northern Ontario.

Superintendent Lesleigh Dye says they want students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited and questioning to feel safe, secure, welcomed and important in our schools.

Dias went to high school in the Soo, where he started a number of clubs, including the first LGBTQ youth group in the city. He’ll be travelling to a number of schools within the board next week.
