A man trying to cross rail tracks in the ghost town of Burwash with his pick-up is now minus a vehicle. The truck’s axle broke when crossing the tracks and while the man was looking to get towed, a CN train rammed the pick-up destroying it. The site of the collision is no longer a proper rail crossing and the man has been charged under the Railway Safety Act. The abandoned town still gets many visitors because people come to see the former Burwash prison.
