Rainbow board high school teachers strike

High school teachers under the Rainbow board are on strike and there’s finger pointing on both sides.  Board chair Doreen Dewar says while the school board was ready to talk, it says the teachers union wasn’t.  Dewar claims the union negotiators said their time would be better spent preparing for a strike.  It’s the opposite story from James Clyke, who is president of District 3 on behalf of the teachers.  Clyke claims management was not willing to negotiate or to consider counter-proposals.  The casualties in all this are the five thousand high school students in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin.  There is no school for them until the dispute is settled.
