Group to hold eight community plays at Mississaugi First Nation

Residents of the Serpent River and Mississaugi First Nations as well as Elliot Lake and Blind River have a chance to be part of a community play.  The group Thinking Rock is holding eight performances in September at Mississiaugi for the play The Rivers Speak.  Professionals will be in the production, but the group also wants community participation and no experience is necessary.  Thinking Rock is looking for musicians, singers, dancers, actors, stilt-walkers and puppeteers.  It has casting calls beginning Tuesday at the Bingo Hall at Mississaugi.  Wednesday the team is in Blind River at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church, on Thursday it heads to the Civic Centre in Elliot Lake and ends the casting mission at the Lifestyle Centre at the Serpent River First Nation on Friday.  All the casting calls are from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.   The team welcomes all ages and also needs people to help make puppets, masks, costumes and sets.
