The Ontario Liberals aren’t getting any relief from the Opposition following last week’s purchase of Avista by Hydro One. The P.C.’s say the Wynne Liberals are hypocrites for getting us back into coal and the NDP are also making the same claim. Peter Tabuns, the NDP’s energy critic, says the hypocrisy of Kathleen Wynne is astounding. Tabuns says first the Liberals charged us to get out of coal-fired plants now they’ll be billing us billions of dollars to re-enter the coal business. American energy producer Avista operates one of the U.S.’s largest coal-fired plants. Tabuns says by selling Hydro One to the private sector, it shows how little control the Liberals have over what Hydro One does nowadays.
