The Manitoulin-Sudbury District Social Services Board past its fundraising goal at the Hair for Heroes event.
On Thursday, DSB raised $6,290 for the Canadian Cancer Society Transportation Program and 288 inches of hair for Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Paramedic and Event Organizer Jess Wilkin says it was important for the paramedics to reach out to the community in ways other than their regular day tasks.
The original fundraising goals were $3,000 and 150 inches of hair.
