Premier Kathleen Wynne is renewing a paramedicine program that lets a paramedic deliver non-emergency care. The Algoma District as well as the Districts of Manitoulin, Sudbury and Cochrane are the four beneficiaries of the renewed program. Wynne announced the renewal while in Elliot Lake. The program is designed for seniors and people with chronic health problems and paramedics can usually help this group in their own home. Before being renewed, the paramedicine program helped more than 8,200 people across the four districts.
