Ontario has approved funding for nine new OPP detachments and one of those new buildings is going up in Little Current. The program is part of the OPP’s modernization initiative as it replaces current police buildings that are the end of their useful lifespan. The request for proposals will go out around the middle of the year. Once built, the Island OPP building will be located at 488 Boozeneck Road. Another northern community that will get a new OPP building is Moosonee.
