Tory candidate makes big promise in Sault Ste. Marie by-election

It’s only several days old but it looks like the Ring of Fire could become an election issue in the Sault Ste. Marie by-election.  P.C. candidate Ross Romano is promising to build a plant in the Sault to process the ore from the chromite site.  Several years ago when he was the minister of northern development and mines and MPP for Sudbury, Rick Bartolucci promised a similar refinery for Capreol before everything got derailed.  NDP candidate Joe Krmpotich says the campaign is about jobs.   Liberal candidate Debbie Amaroso says Sault residents are best served by an MPP who is a member of the current governing party.    Residents cast their votes June 1st.
