The MP for Nickel Belt says a Francophone education has value at home and abroad. Marc Serre was one of many participants at an international meeting of Francophone countries discussing French culture as well as economic and social issues Francophone countries face. Serre says it’s important for institutions to attract foreign students which in turn increase the number of French programs. As an example to his international colleagues, Serre referred to the Nouvel Ontario Catholic Francophone school board. Some of the board’s students come from other countries and Serre says this is a testament to the board’s inclusiveness. Serre says Nouvel Ontario helps students adopt to a changing environment. The school board is home to a large number of students across Northeastern Ontario.
