Mantha cites need for alternative and emergency road routes

The MPP for Algoma Manitoulin says it`s time the Wynne Liberals develop a transportation strategy that keeps traffic moving in the north.  Mike Mantha was reacting to yet another closure of Highway 17 from Wawa to White River this week as the result of a washout.  Although the highway has since been repaired, Tuesday`s incident kept people from work and students missed school.  Mantha says highway closures in the north are a regular occurrence.  The New Democrat says municipalities, residents and business leaders in the north continually call for alternative routes but their requests fall on deaf ears.   He says the Liberals need to create alternative routes and emergency roads to keep traffic moving whenever a main highway is shutdown.
