J.N. student wins music award

A Grade 12 student from Jeunesse Nord in Blind River has won a music award from a festival in Rockland, near Ottawa.   Guitarist Matt Tarantini was one of 12 students to take home the All-Star Award.  The four day event not only allowed students across the province to play their instruments, they also got feedback from professional artists.  As one of the winners, Tarantini can now take part in another music event this May in Woodstock.  About 500 students will take part in the Franco Ontarian Games which includes workshops carried out by professionals in the field and the students also get to perform for the crowd.  Tarantini has played the guitar since he was six and learned from his dad.
