Mantha commends Blind River effort to keep Service Ontario office open

Riding MPP Mike Mantha says the provincial government did the right thing in keeping the Service Ontario office in Blind River open.  Last week the province announced that nine offices it was thinking of closing will remain open.  Last June when the provincial government said it was considering possible closures, Blind River residents mobilized.  Mantha says by getting petitions, letters and e-mails out, plus rallying, the residents pressured the government into re-considering its decision.  Had the Blind River office closed, it would have forced residents to use the Service Ontario office in Elliot Lake.  Mantha says that would have been very tough on people who don’t have easy access to transportation.
