Wildlife group installs more bird nest boxes

An area wildlife group in Elliot Lake has completed some winter nest boxes for different types of birds.  The Friends of Algoma East have been doing this kind of habitat work for 20 years. Their most recent project involves building seven swallow boxes, two duck boxes plus the members cleaned and refurbished another dozen boxes.  Over the years, the group has made about 100 duck and swallow boxes and about 200 owl boxes.  The group collects data on the different bird species in the area and sends its information to various bird related groups like Bird Studies Canada and Ontario Bird Banding.
