Northern chambers head to Queen’s Park with concers

A delegation of chambers of commerce from Northeastern Ontario believes it had a productive visit with MPP’s at Queen’s Park.  The business group went to Toronto to discuss how energy prices, transportation and cap and trade will affect the north.  One of the chambers was from Timmins and its president Chris Bender says what works in Southern Ontario doesn’t mean it will work in the north.  The business group met with members of all three parties to raise their awareness about northern issues, suggest possible solutions and to ensure future dialogue on issues.  Visits include meetings with the leaders of the NDP and PC’s and also Sudbury MPP and energy minister, Glenn Thibeault.
